Stop Panic Attacks – The Beginning
Actually, I already had my first experiences of panic attacks when I was still in grade school. Yet, I never realized that it had seemed to be an illness to me especially when I have to expose myself to a crowd.
I just realized it when during my college, we have this Speech Communication subject and once, we have to make an impromptu speech. We were being called in an alphabetical order and since my last name starts with a letter that is in the middle part of the alphabet, I got sometime to organize my thoughts and the speech that I was going to make. Yet, when my professor called me, it seemed that I lost my voice. No sound was coming out of my throat and I was trembling and I was really shaking. I really didn’t know why I was acting that way when I knew for myself that there was nothing to be scared of. As per advise of my professor and some of my concerned classmates, I took deep breathes to temporarily stop panic attacks, and slowly, I regain the normal beating of my heart and I slowly calmed down. Unfortunately, I was not able to continue my speech that day although I have stop panic attacks, so I have to be more prepared for the next meeting with that professor.
Trying to stop panic attacks is not easy because it may happen in the most unexpected time of the day, place and situation. You will just be so shocked and would not readily stop panic attacks. When I was in college, I would always try my best to be prepared for the next school day so that I won’t have panic attacks when a professor calls me for a recitation in the class. But when I started applying for jobs after graduation, no matter how prepared I am, I still usually end up fighting to stop panic attacks especially when I am called for a personal interview. I tremble and I had chest pains for no reason at all. Fortunately, it just subsides some time after the interview. Back then, I wasn’t inclined to using the internet to be able to search for ways on how to stop panic attacks. Not until now that I already have three kids which I guess have contributed to the more frequent panic attacks. To stop panic attacks has seem to be more difficult when I became a family woman since I am more stressed.
