My Battle With Panic Attacks – It Was Never Easy
Dealing with how to stop panic attacks is never new to me and is not easy either. Anxiety disorder, how to stop it and how to stop panic attacks almost accompanied my name since I was a kid. I was a victim of this for a couple of years, and for the first few years that I am suffering from this, I never cared to think of how to stop panic attacks.
My Panic Attacks Started Here
Believe it or not, but it all started when I was just in grade school. And that young age could be the reason why I was not considering for any way to stop panic attacks. A few years before I went to school, my father have left us to work abroad. Few years after he left, my mother also left us and followed my father so that she can help my father earn a living abroad and to be able to provide our family’s needs and wants. So right there, when we started going to school, my siblings and I were all left to the guidance of our aunt and uncle. I believe my parents, just like me, did not think that it would be the start of me having to stop panic attacks.
To stop panic attacks at an early age is supposedly too impossible because we lived with our aunt, uncle and my uncle’s wife and their daughter then. I never thought that I should have to think of how to stop panic attacks and that I would start to have anxiety disorder because I was too young then. They are the ones who used to take care of the three of us while our parents are working abroad. Unfortunately, our living with them was some of the time considered to be quite traumatic on our part as young children then and I believe those were the times when I started to have panic attacks. I, being the eldest was only 8 years old then and had no thoughts of how to stop panic attacks. My two other siblings are aged 6 and 4 only at that time. Being a child, I believe that we should have been protected from witnessing violence, supposedly. Unfortunately, my sisters and I was not spared of that.
What I Believed Had Triggered My Panic Attacks
I did not imagine of having to stop panic attacks just because my uncle and his wife used to have fights almost every night. This usually happens when my uncle comes home from work and he is drunk. One night, he came home drunk and the fight started as usual. Since our house is just a small one, I can not avoid hearing the two of them shouting at each other. After quite a long time of watching that scene, my uncle’s wife suddenly went to the kitchen. For no reason at all, I followed her. And to my surprise, I saw her holding a knife and reaching for my uncle. I shouted to the peak of my voice and I went outside to ask for help. I don’t remember the exact date when it happened but that night is still very clear to me. Since then, I usually experience these panic attacks even for no considerable reason at all. It was more of a trauma to me and I really had difficulty to stop panic attacks.
I did not readily realize it, but those panic attack symptoms are with me until I reached college and until I started working for a company. When I started working and dealing with customers and superiors, even with little problems encountered with them, I also deal with panic attacks. And these attacks usually make me out of focus and sometimes out of reason. This is when I realized that I have to look and find for panic attack treatments. I realized I can not live normally so long as these panic attacks haunt me even for the littlest reason. Yet, all these treatments I tried to use before were all just short-time reliefs to stop panic attacks. And so, I went on searching for real ways that could really help me solve my problems with these panic attacks.
